I agree with you, he has always been terrible in ways that the others aren’t. Addiction is some part of it, sure, but he could be vicious in ways that were uncomfortable, especially when pushing people into stunts and in the aftermath of them being hurt.

Don’t get me wrong, I agree with much that you have to say, I am assuming you have more knowledge of the character than I do, so all of my criticism is clouded by my limited (3-4 episodes) of exposure to Maya.

She’s also one of the main parts of the comic book storyline they’re in part drawing from (her introduction in Daredevil), so there’s that. Saying she’s extraneous to this story is like saying Kingpin is, and the two are pretty interconnected.
