No, attorneys general is correct. They are attorneys (noun). The “general” is a descriptor and adjectives don’t become plural. Same with sisters-in-law (not sister-in-laws).

I think you misinterpreted her. Imagine she started that sentence with “Most people think...” and you’ll get the concept she was trying to put forth.

Clapping back originally comes from when people would clap their hands together as they were making a point, one clap per word (like the gif below), not like an applause. It then morphed into generally meaning an aggressive response to something that shuts someone down.
