I love Rivian’s design and approach, but I think that they’ll suffer from the same manufacturing challenge with regards to car bodies/fit and finish that Tesla has for the past 10 years. I just don’t see how they’ll magically get past those issues.

I’m sure it makes insurance overall go up, but it also makes me all the more grateful that I live in a state with zero deductible glass coverage, and making a claim won’t affect my rate. So I can insist it goes to a manufacturer-certified body shop and that it gets OEM glass and I’m nothing out of pocket.
Gets in fights at Buffalo Wild Wings with some other late-30s sports fan because their teams are “rivals”.
haha it is. i google image search forester and grabbed one at random.. lol even says Crosstrek in the damned photo, haha shit
Looks like a Crosstrek.
this is america. we need clearance and bigger tires for our crumbling roads after the baby boomers chose to not pay taxes for 40 years.
Boy Toyota’s been dropping a lot of TRD’s this week.
aesthetic “ruggedness”
I’m not a regular dad, I’m a cool dad. *puts Punisher skull decal on back window of 2019 RAV4*
I’ll take a lifted subie with knobby AT tires over a slammed to the ground one with red rally flaps and a roof rack any day of the week
That’s hot!
Im pretty sure even companies like ReadyLift make 2" spacer lifts for it.
Because people don’t know anything about the vehicle and make assumptions. The LX470 is a badge engineered Land Cruiser. It has a nicer interior, for the most part, and a different grill/headlight/hood facia. Otherwise it is LITERALLY the same vehicle.
I’ve long said that. It’s truly staggering how many cars are made and sold. IIRC, Ford sold ~900,000 F150s in 2018 alone. Nine. Hundred. Thousand for one vehicle sold by one manufacturer. No wonder there’s a Ford dealership every 20mi, here in Tx.
I think that while watching How It’s Made and they are making something mundane like pencils and the narrator says, “This facility is capable of producing 400,000 pencils a day.” WHO IS BUYING ALL THOSE PENCILS?!
What is the point of buying this at this price? It is too big to truly offroad. Too slow to be fun. Too old to be luxurious. Too gold for my tastes.
It’s a nice rig considering the age, but that is an awful price considering the age and mileage. Just because people ask this much for one does not make it worth this much. $8k gets you better things.
How else would you know it’s HARDCORE?
It looks like one of the exhaust pipes is hanging lower than the other. But that may be my imagination because I had a 2002 TL Type S with the same affliction and the dealer swore up and down that I was crazy and the exhausts were totally symmetric. I finally just fixed it myself, the cheap bastards.
