effectively deploying capital = ROIC...

yeah, i mean, i’ll trust audited SEC filings more than i trust a quote from Forbes.

i don’t really see how that’s a valid argument...? as the CEO of a publicly traded company he has a fiduciary duty to deliver value to shareholders and stakeholders. his desire do otherwise doesn’t absolve him of that responsibility. so, what’s your point?

Amazon has only had a few profitable quarters? I’m on their Fundamentals page in NASDAQ IRInsight right now and they’ve posted a profit in each of the trailing 12 quarters (since 09/2015)... so, unless i can’t read a P&L (which would be problematic, because that’s my job) that statement is absolutely incorrect. amazon

it’s really hard to meet debt covenants with negative cash flow, so i don’t really see how that would be “playing the long game.” companies IPO because to get them out of heavily leveraged positions, despite common stock being the most expensive source of funding.

i mean, that’s part of being a CEO.

generally speaking, poor overhead squat technique is rooted in immobility in the hips and ankles before the shoulders. if you can strict press without issue, then i’d venture a guess that you are probably really limited downstream in your hips & ankles, which is leading to a bad torso angle. your shoulders hurting is

he was streaming a PPV Barstool Event on his personal channel.

limebike is new, right? i’ve been seeing them all over metro-boston and as far away as Bedford...

topical. bravo.

evidently, you knew what i mean, but congrats on being pedantic on the internet.

wait, are they in the playoffs yet?

ya and they’ve been given a swift kick in the ass clean out of the first round of the playoffs each of the last two seasons.

the clip of him playing basketball on Hard Knocks was a delight.

yeah, i really don’t think you can. while his defense might be value-add, it’s wildly overstated how much impact it has (again, <1 dWAR). he makes eye-popping plays, but i’d much rather have an average defensive CF hitting .240-.260. the sox are also at the bottom of the league in strength of schedule, so that really

i watch more than my fair share of games... that doesn’t really change the fact that the effect of his defensive play on the team’s w/l is wildly overstated by the fans. are you really so willing to settle for a player that is all but an automatic out at the plate for 80% of the season? you say he has long slumps as

we actually do, though. the world needs ditch-diggers.

...because keeping an outfielder with a <1 dWAR and barely sniffing the Mendoza Line for one spectacular catch a month is wise. you’re such a great, well-informed fan.

Took all of two seconds. And the Pats still had the option to tag him, so he never even sees free agency!!
