Latifi’s a Williams driver, and he’s not very good (I’m being friendly here). Russell is going to murder him next year.

Should’ve said that Vettel to Red Bull is completely dependent on if Verstappen stays or not. They’re not going to be teammates. But if Max were to move to Merc, Red Bull will be left with Albon and Gasly, and that won’t cut it for a top team, so Seb could be a logical short term option.

I think the hierarchy among the drivers will be pretty clear next season. Leclerc is still at an age where drivers develop like crazy, this is probably going to get much, much worse for Seb. They won’t dump him midseason, if only because there’s not really a viable replacement within their driver program, but they

I’m kind of in awe of how Formula E is trying to get every demographic interested in their product. Apart from motorsports fans, of course.

I guess the joke is on me, just the other day I was trying to argue that Formula E’s sound couldn’t be worse if they tried.

BTK BTS, I say.

I’m sorry Dave, I’m afraid I can’t do that.

That’s so funny. There isn’t a team in F1 that isn’t drooling over the marketing opportunities tied to a female driver who’s good enough for F1. The real answer is that there’s nobody even remotely good enough yet to compete at that level. If you disagree, please name names.

Or you get the best driver you can and pay the bills based on their results.

First indications aren’t great, as expected. The Asia series doesn’t have a particularly strong field (that’s an understatement), though it’s better than anything Chadwick has ever faced. She’s been thoroughly outpaced in the first round (3 races) by her younger teammate Devlin Defrancesco, who didn’t score a single

Do tell of all those great things Liberty has done to liberate the sport. Sure, a change was needed, but you’re overreacting.

Fairly telling update: if you needed anymore proof that Chadwick wasn’t much more than a PR signing, Williams has just signed Dan Ticktum as a development driver, effectively demoting Chadwick before she’s had a run in the car.

1) that’s a very flattering picture of Tamara.

She’s only a star when racing against other women.

It would have the opposite effect. All evidence points towards the skill discrepancy between even the best Indy drivers and F1 being significantly larger than suggested in the comments above.

at least, for the second season in a row, he’s dodged the bullet of being the worst F1 driver on the grid (thanks Williams!).

Fun fact: Calderon and Chadwick are both competing in the Asia F3 series this winter, which had its first event this past weekend. Neither really impressed in terms of speed, but Calderon had a strong (wet) race 2, though Chadwick seems the slightly quicker driver.

Who are those good female drivers then? I’d love to know.

For testing purposes, you don’t need a SL. Though Chadwick is clearly more of a PR signing. She’ll probably get some demo runs in the future, which is something at least. But she’s not a viable F1 talent, so there’s no way she’ll ever run an actual GP. Not saying this to belittle, simply to temper expectations

I agree completely, the problem is that female driver doesn’t (yet) exist. So it’s affirmative action or nothing at this point.
