Granted the layout is the same, but the RS4 version doesn’t need timing chain maintenance like it’s S4 little brother. The DI setup requires other maintenance like carbon cleaning, though.

Please elaborate on what wasn’t great about it? And keep it to the RS4 V8, not the S4 4.2 which is not the same. Also, remember it debuted in 2006 in Europe.
These cars are closer to 625hp, unless the boost and/or fuel flow limits have changed recently.
