Gas tax is one of the most reliable ways to get tax money from the poor. In a country where 40+ percent pay effectively no income tax it wont take long for the government to figure it out and get their money.
1st gear - im someone who believes gas should be much more expensive, like European prices, and that the increase in taxes that would make gas that expensive should be poured into making public transportation much more useful.
In a weird way, Genesis is actually perfectly positioned to become a full-EV company, because so few people who know the brand. I remember my entire Genesis ownership experience was, “It’s a what?”
I’ll say it 1000 times: the VW Up! GTI.
Given that the local Ford dealer only has the EcoSport for Focus prices and the Focus sold reasonably well, I think it’d do okay, especially if they glued some black plastic to the bottom and called it the “Focus CrossX” or whatever.
The Suzuki Swift Sport,
Chevy Montana:
Fiat Panda Cross!
We don’t get the really cool versions of the Toyota Hilux and Land Cruisers here:
It may not be “interesting” in the sense that it’s unique in a lot of ways, but it’s “interesting” that America once got several varieties of the Ford Focus, and now NONE. First Gen focuses came in a 2-door hatch, 4-door hatch, 4-door sedan, 2-door coupe (for a bit), and a true station wagon. Then it went to 4-door…
we dont want it if it still only comes with a CVT.
If thats the case we would rather have a Golf R wagon
I’d like to add all the wagons we don’t get:
The wagon WRX (Levorg) that we are not allowed to have.
Mazda BT-50
I hope Stellantis brings over Citroens and Peugeots to bolster the somewhat depressing product lines of Dodge and Chrysler. That said I don’t know if the Peugeot 508 wagon would be in that list. Probably just boring stuff like the crossovers.
I get all the love for the Yaris GR but you guys forgot about the new A110. I know it lacks a manual but apart from that it’s awesome.
Who cares about another hot hatch not sold here when hot hatches exist already.
Do you like small, light, 2 door hatchbacks with proper full time awd, limited slip diffs, turbo power, and good looks?
Too bad, north america, you don’t get them.
Yeah they were priced too closely. IIRC the only Golfs with any options were high $20k, but especially in recent years the base GTI came standard with a lot of those things for like $28
