I remain shocked at the continued lack of market success for the 4th generation Mazda3. Earlier versions of the car were instrumental in keeping the company afloat, and the 3 retains some dedicated fans, but the overall market for small passenger vehicles has moved away from it.

This revisionist history stating the Aztek was good, actually needs to stop.

it’s not fancy and luxurious, but it never pretended it wanted to be

The Volkswagen Golf.

I see C8s fairly often in the wild.

Saab 9-2x Aero aka Saabaru. better looking, more upscale WRX with some STI parts, what’s not to love? One of my favorite cars I ever owned. I miss Saab. It’s a real Saab story.

Only 35k ever made over a 4 year run. Partially because GM killed the brand (along with Pontiac), and partially because it filled a niche between the Corvette and Miata (and the base level competed directly with the Miata)...an answer to a question few really asked.

TSX and Mazda6 wagon…just Look at this thing

They sold almost 22,000 of the C8 in 2020 alone.

The 6th Gen Camaro, specifically in SS 1LE guise

Former CA smog check guy here. Unless these parts have gained approval from the California Air Resources Board then yeah - the cold air intake, down pipe and possibly more would make it fail emission inspection.

These mods make this car illegal to register in California. I also question how they are getting that much power out of a stock turbo, even with DP and exhaust, which there must be a tune there.

They added the skin-on part when they changed the fries in 2010.  Unless they mean something different by it now.

You don’t like good fries?

Lowering a 80's F350 is really easy. Just new springs at most. It also makes a huge difference when you look at %. Going from 8 to 9mpg is just 1mpg but 3x the gain of 24 to 25mpg.

I rented a Chevy Malibu one year when my Caravan’s ECU lobotomized itself; the car was fantastically comfortable and roomy and got great mileage, but did you ever hear about them? Not at the time.
