I was thinking the same re:TDI. 345 lb ft is respectable, only 40 shy of a chipped 2.7T A6. 36 MPG is what I get in our B7 A4 with the same 2.0TFSI (chipped) putting out 230HP and 273 TQ. IF only this new A8 was somewhat affordable...

My wife's old car, a 2000 A6 2.7T 6MT, which is now mine, has 160k miles on it, the last 70k with APR stage I software and 382 lb-ft of torque. We spent $12k on it. It handles great (mild H&R sport/Bilstien susp)…

If you like it now, do yourself a favor and drop $600 on APR stage I software. Trust me.
