@VikasTriton: The track closing down is probably the reason why kids take it to public roads more often. If the state is too bankrupt to pay educators, maybe they should charge developers more taxes. Just a thought.

@061063063067: Yeah, that video looked really safe. What if there was another car coming the other way, or an animal in the road? When in a full drift, you can't adjust much without loosing it. I'm a hoon, but I go to trackdays for a reason. On the street, you always need to give yourself some extra room where

@keenan9: It's even worse than I thought. Parents don't teach their kids anything anymore.

Why is it not called a CTC?

@ProfessorSlowmobile: Whatever. I'm 36 and very much do condone that kind of behavior. You can, too! Only it's "gourds." I once drove my buddy's 5.0 Mustang through a blizzard, he couldn't deal with it. We were both stoned, but I grew up skiing my whole life, so it was actually kind of fun. I tried to tell him

That's a great COTD, but I actually like Mark Wahlberg. As an actor. His music sucked major cock. Someone told me that's not his cock at the end of "Boogie Nights," either.

@DoctorNine: Thanks, usually I have to wait until my wife gets home for one of those.

@CalHoon: SOME woven pattern carbon is purely cosmetic. You actually can weave carbon at different angles to create rigidity in many directions, just like glass fibers. Most of the time it is mixed with glass or kevlar, so it will have more rigidity in one direction than the other and save cost. The carbon/kevlar

This is a direct result of non-race cars with start buttons. Sure, they're cool, but what if your son wants to just turn on the stereo and show his buddy how shitty (any) stock stereo sounds? With old school key ignition, you had off, acc, ign, and START. That would have at least confused the little idiot for

@bombed6bt: Did the same on mine (early 95 w/ vented rear rotors). If you have a 6 bolt (earlier 1g), you don't need to worry about it. Suppposedly, it was a bad run of 7 bolt cranks. I seem to be lucky, I disabled the clutch switch @65k when I bought it, it has 100k+ now with no issues.

Sounds like what we heard at every stupid all employee meeting in the semiconductor industry. Keep making those widgets better and faster for the same or less compensation! It's good for the company! Be happy you have a job! You have kids and a mortgage to feed, and there aren't any jobs out there! Don't worry

@ourtimedownhere: Yeah, after her first track day, I was dreaming of a 'ring trip on the internets and she said if we went she would want to drive, too. Made me want to marry her all over again :)

@AustinMiniMan: You can't build any used car into anything and expect to get your money out of it. Unless your name is Chip Foose, then you've got droves of rich rednecks waiting in line to give you their life savings.

Two years in jail? That's it? Good thing this guy wasn't growing pot FFS.

That really doesn't sound that outrageous. I was expecting a fighter jet made of biceps from the writeup ;)

Everybody has to sign a waiver, even passengers, he was aware of the danger. Tragic, but shit does happen. You never know when it's your turn. It's sad that this kind of thing does occaisionally happen at a track, as public roads are far more dangerous. Poor guy at least got to have some fun on his way out.

I wonder if she listens to Too $hort with her kids in the car?
