I recommend basically any Subaru product, although I do so with the usual caveats (make sure the head gasket on the EJ251's been done, check the history and banjo filter if it's a turbo, etc.). Personally, I would have opted for taking CA-1 (PCH) the whole way up from Santa Barbara. Great views, great road, and a ton of photo opportunities. A bit longer, but completely worth it IMO.
