I fly for work and carry all my tools and parts in checked bags. Never an issue as it does not break any TSA rules. Any lithium ion batteries must be in a carry-on/ personal item

If you take the battery with you in a carry-on or personal item, you should be okay. They just don’t want it in the cargo hold in case it catches on fire and no one notices
