Volvo hasn’t built car seats in decades. When an old one does, they pull the seats out and chuck ‘em in a new one. Really keeps costs down, you know?

After a nice bottle of Thunderbird, I can handle anything pretty decently. 

Front wheel drive was familiar in the US market but hardly the default that it is today, and 4WD was the stuff of pickups and big utility vehicles (the SUV revolution, too, was just beginning). A lot of people got by with RWD cars, using snow tires and/or chains if serious winter was expected.

Hope they have some ideas on improving this.
