I had one as company car in the 90's. Not so much Applause as it is the sound of one hand clapping.

Oh yes.

Stunning execution. Bit surprised that it features three, two inch, SU Carbs though.

I had one as a company car in ’99. It was a mid 90's, used import from Japan (GTO), twin Turbo with the six speed Getrag manual and aftermarket 18" alloys (the first 18" wheels i’d ever seen in my life). I never really had any reliability issues with it (unlike the next owner), but my God could it use gas! - the only

I remember reading an article in an english car mag a few years ago. The writer took a test mule Jaguar XK8 out for the day, wrote about how it performed, what didn’t appear to be working etc, before delivering it to the crusher and photographing it being destroyed. Apparently, with all the work done and time spent

Mmmm. Hino Contessa.

Let’s not forget Alfa Romeo’s ‘Selespeed’ which came out in the 90's. It’s a manual transmission with electrohydraulic shift mechanism. They sold thousands, with an exponential number of issues....

A half arsed repaint means it’s restored?. 100% Crack pipe.

Ah the memories!.

I’m seeing a lot of Renault Floride/Caravelle in it. Tiny V4 sounds interesting too.

The purple car on the cover of the book is an HC Vauxhall Viva. Not something i’d equate with a midlife crisis, not unless you wear striped sweaters and still live at home with your Mum... Oh wait...

I had two GTA’s back in the early/mid 2000's. An ‘86 badged as a Renault and a ‘90 badged as an Alpine. Never had any issues with the wipers, the solenoid operated doors however...

Only one i can think of is the Cizeta-Moroder V16T.

A few years ago, a technician friend of mine was asked to remove the odometer from a U.K import, E34 BMW 535i. The owner wanted to ‘adjust’ the mileage to better reflect the cars condition. Taped to the back of the instrument binnacle was a note. It simply said “Oh no, not again!”. We laughed - a LOT....
