This was a really good read (and, thanks to a few minutes of Googling, it taught me the phrase “NUMTOT”). Having lived outside America before, it really is shocking to return and realize just how much we neglect mass transit. Can’t wait to go back to a place that isn’t terrible and not need to even own a car anymore.

I have little to say, except that I could not agree with you more. You nailed it!

Eh, I dunno. I don’t really care much for live action TV so for me, The Simpsons is a bigger draw than most other streaming services have.

Personally a bigger Rosalina fan, but I am sure it’s a real bummer when one of your faves is excluded. Hopefully she gets included at some point.

I can only speak for myself, but I think they’re good beyond the nostalgia. I didn’t play them for the first time until the late 00s when I got them for free from Bethesda’s website. I’d already played Morrowind and Oblivion at the time.

Imagine coming to a website that posts video game reviews and claiming that no one can write about why certain games are fun.

You’re probably right, but for my money (and when it comes to technical stuff, I am an ignoramus, so fair warning) the contrast between the super realistic lighting effects and the clunky old Doom graphics is a pretty cool look. I kind of want to see a retro Doom-clone style FPS come out with ray tracing effects and

I came here just to pay tribute to Garret.

That’s interesting! When I play the game I’m going to keep that in mind, it certainly does seem like an interesting take.

Oh, this video was fabulous! Thanks for sharing, I’d not seen it before. It definitely echoes a lot of my own thoughts about cyberpunk as a genre.

I feel like what people seem to forget a lot of the time is that cyberpunk as a genre isn’t (just) about aesthetic, and it’s certainly not about action, but about big ideas. It’s why media that focuses solely on looking and sounding like cyberpunk tends to disappoint me, and why something like Cyberpunk 2077 was

Ah, interesting! This is good to know, thanks!

What’s great is this one is really just a collection of links to other articles. I would be over the moon if we saw a few more of this style of article, and then an article that was just a collection of links to those.

I’ve never played a FromSoft game before, but I really want to check out this one and Bloodborne. I don’t know when or if I’ll ever get around to Elden Ring (and Bloodborne depends on if they ever bring it to PC), but I hope I manage. The only thing I worry about is that PvP stuff isn’t really my cup of tea--I like

“In Search of a Flat Earth” was my favorite video of his before the NFTs one—it’s really brilliant, and sad honestly. Maybe with time “Line Goes Up” will prove to be less good in my opinion and “In Search of a Flat Earth” will be my favorite again; one can never underestimate the power of recency bias.

Well you gotta love Hat-Dan.

That’s a fair point. I will say that, in my opinion, it has genuine entertainment value due to Dan’s delivery style being drily entertaining, and thus while it’s longer than a lot of full length movies, it’s also more watchable than many of them also.

This video is the only reason I’ve heard of Axie Infinity before this article.

This game’s been on my wishlist for a long time. I haven’t gotten around to buying it yet, but reading this definitely makes it even more appealing.

Including a rough playtime is a really great call. As someone with sadly too little time to play video games these days, having some kind of idea before I decide whether to get a game or not is a huge boon.
