That’s interesting! When I play the game I’m going to keep that in mind, it certainly does seem like an interesting take.

Oh, this video was fabulous! Thanks for sharing, I’d not seen it before. It definitely echoes a lot of my own thoughts about cyberpunk as a genre.
I feel like what people seem to forget a lot of the time is that cyberpunk as a genre isn’t (just) about aesthetic, and it’s certainly not about action, but about big ideas. It’s why media that focuses solely on looking and sounding like cyberpunk tends to disappoint me, and why something like Cyberpunk 2077 was…
Ah, interesting! This is good to know, thanks!
What’s great is this one is really just a collection of links to other articles. I would be over the moon if we saw a few more of this style of article, and then an article that was just a collection of links to those.
I’ve never played a FromSoft game before, but I really want to check out this one and Bloodborne. I don’t know when or if I’ll ever get around to Elden Ring (and Bloodborne depends on if they ever bring it to PC), but I hope I manage. The only thing I worry about is that PvP stuff isn’t really my cup of tea--I like…
“In Search of a Flat Earth” was my favorite video of his before the NFTs one—it’s really brilliant, and sad honestly. Maybe with time “Line Goes Up” will prove to be less good in my opinion and “In Search of a Flat Earth” will be my favorite again; one can never underestimate the power of recency bias.
Well you gotta love Hat-Dan.
That’s a fair point. I will say that, in my opinion, it has genuine entertainment value due to Dan’s delivery style being drily entertaining, and thus while it’s longer than a lot of full length movies, it’s also more watchable than many of them also.
This video is the only reason I’ve heard of Axie Infinity before this article.
This game’s been on my wishlist for a long time. I haven’t gotten around to buying it yet, but reading this definitely makes it even more appealing.
Including a rough playtime is a really great call. As someone with sadly too little time to play video games these days, having some kind of idea before I decide whether to get a game or not is a huge boon.
I haven’t liked a single one of Bethesda’s Fallout games, and I think Oblivion and Skyrim are pretty good but not as good as the previous Elder Scrolls games (even Arena). And yet I am quite excited for Starfield, for some reason. Probably the space factions. Reminds me of a video game version of the TTRPG Stars…
This is a shame for me personally, as I didn’t get into Wordle until the last month or two, so I was going through the Wordle Archive slowly to see the ones I’d missed. Ah, well.
Hah! I got you now.
Isn’t that just how it goes when a big new game comes out?
I never would have even heard of this game if Jim Sterling hadn’t done a video on it. It seems really terrible.
I would love that to be so. Maybe that Dan Olson video that went viral scared a lot of people off, or maybe the crashing NFT market did that, hah.
Ah, this is good to know! Much appreciated. I’ve been trying to go back and play some of the classics that I missed in their own time and I like to play them as close to the original as I can, but that’s not always feasible so hearing from people with more knowledge than I is always helpful.
Technically I do have a DS (or rather, my partner has a 3DS he would let me use), but the tiny screen is heck on my eyes. Thanks for the input! I think I’ll go ahead and start it tonight to play over the weekend.
