Wow I despised that movie. It just seemed so smugly smitten with its own cleverness... and I tend to otherwise be ok with that sort of haughtiness. Maybe I need to see it again.

Between the comparatively incremental upgrades (I mean, we’ll probably never have another 2D -> 3D or SD -> HD sea change again), and the global pandemic, the typical 1 or 2 year wait before a new gen comes into its own... hits differently this time around. Here’s to better days.
God this looks so good. And may I just point out that having Colin Stetson scoring it is obscenely exciting.
Totally, sorry, I worded that really poorly, that’s what I hoped to get at but obviously missed the mark. Maybe I just got up on the wrong side of the bed today, but having an avatar slipped into the gameplay loop just struck me as odd. I am excited and will definitely play it, but I’m also an old who would be happy…
I love me some WarioWare but I’m gonna say the thing and be a little skeptical. It feels like this could be intrinsically a bit slow and awkward, and designing microgames to be solved multiple ways could come at a loss of focus. Sort of a... Scribblenautsification of WW...? I am pumped to be proven wrong though, it…
Neon 2.5D thingy! Sign me up. Just please don’t turn out to be developed by a jerkoff like the last one.
What a tremendous labor of love. Different times.
Oh shit before father’s day for VIP members... HMMMMMMMMMM
Yeah, it’s definitely the people. It’s something you can find anywhere now, but they started doing some form of it in the mid 00s and they were industry professionals for long before that, so, not exactly the same perspective on offer
“My poor choice of lenses was really clutch in correctly my poor choice in casting” is one hell of a way to reframe that movie’s whole deal.
Right?! It’s kind of unbelievable. Between the quality of the miniatures and track, the narration, the general camera work, and the million other things involved it absolutely strains credulity. If you listen really closely though, you can definitely hear the same verbal ticks between 2D and 3D. But yeah, definitely…
My kid got into these videos a year or two ago and they’re just the best. Some of the best produced, funniest stuff on youtube.
Rest in pictures, Robert Paulson.
Announcer. He uses a voice changer and does both. Really the entire production is one guy, which makes everything more mindblowing considering the production values and the naturality of the banter.
Ha, no, I am in Golden, CO. But it would surprise me exactly 0% if this description would easily apply to big chunks of the pacific northwest.
Ha, thanks. Yeah, it’s a bummer, and the triple fucker of it all is that the board is stuffed with the developer’s people which are... I dunno... Business assholes? But we make do and take our small victories when we can.
Here’s a fun fact: Way back when Kotaku broadcasted those episodes, it was a limited engagement and they were eventually deactivated IIRC. Some time last year I randomly checked and some angel or happenstance reactivated the streams so, go hog bonkers friends.
(And or just download a bunch of stuff from SA-GCCX or…
Interesting, thanks for the tip! Thankfully we’re in a loop where the typical order of events is that they send their little informants around the neighborhood (love that quarterly lookout when someone just stops in front of my house to take a picture from their car), complain, then we remind them that it’s a…
Totally tangential, but I can feel the hero image for this story in my bones. I can’t even describe how many hours we have spent here in the burbs arguing with the HOA about how often and for how long we can fly our fucking pride flag.
I think mint is probably a charitable word. Whiskey Media may have made a mint, but all Jeff really intimated in podcasts is that, like, he made enough to do something like make a very stupid car purchase. Obviously, 1) it’s nobody’s business and 2) it’s nothing to sneeze at, but I reckon it was something like “put a…
