@Scrotor: Such a shame that the funniest comment of '11 happens in the first week of January...

Amazon and Steam. Amazon rewards me with certificates for pre-ordering new games and gives fairs money on buy-backs. Steam has insane sales. Works for me!

Ha, after the first page I was convinced that I would eventually be compelled by someone to bring them all the blue pages.

@tim rogers: Ok, assuming tim108 hat gmail dawt com is right, then it's sent. Thanks!

Mr. Rogers: I keep emailing you for your novel(s) but never get a response. What should I do?

@dracosummoner: Definitely give it a go, once you get a feel for the controls (Maybe 3/4 of the way through world 1) they go from feeling pretty good to absolutely sublime. Best controlling game I have ever played.

@Jadfish: Keep with it, you'll get it! Its took me about three hours total, two hours for the first level and an hour for the last two. Just be ready to stick it through, because you can't resume after you beat the first so once you do it you're committed.

@malaklaze: Agree with all of your points, adding that the moment when Castor/Zuse asked Daft Punk to pump up the music drove me freakin nuts! The build up was so good, then BAM, jump cut to a damn near silent scene. Worst case of musical blue-balls ever.

Isn't it a little anthropocentric to call this colors impossible because they are non-human-perceivable. Seems to me that the vast majority of eyeballs on earth are non-human, surely some of them can perceive these colors?

@Zuzax: Of course, Gameloft's bread and butter is copying/adapting games you enjoy or are nostalgic about then re-selling them to you, why wouldn't they double their money on half the creativity?

2010 had some absolutely outstanding games, but I gotta say, 2011 looks like 2009-2 in all the right ways. Pretty much frothing with excitement.

@Hazeman25: They'd have to do some epic tap dancing to top the shadow broker DLC, so I'd say go for it.

@David Insley: I generally do too. He's a pretty good producer but his rapping is objectively horrendous. If he dropped the pretense he could be a game-changer for hip-hop, but I don't see it happening any time soon.

@jpalz: Yup, I have very fond memories of the cutscenes and the photo enhancing parts of that game. Odd that neither Steam nor GOG have offered it yet.

I feel that technologically and thematically games might just be reaching a maturity level where they can make good on the promise of a game essentially set in the Blade Runner universe (ME2 pretty much nailed it in the Afterlife club, walking in there is one of my favorite gaming moments of 2010).

@David Insley: Indeed. What Kanye did with Avril 14th sorta drives me nuts, it just feels so wrong.

I bet the general plodding jankiness of the console game's controls will actually translate faithfully to the touch screen. Definitely gonna give it a spin.

@smirkette: Probably pretty safe to assume it'll follow the basic template Telltale has been using for all of its adventure games. If the freaking brilliant stuff they did with time travel in Sam and Max season 2 is any indication, these games will be great.

@firenze: Spot on, I was considering adding "Nintendo makes a revolutionary console AGAIN" to my list.

In the past year:
