I got one of the Yeti dog bowls as a gift, and it actually works great for the summer and camping. It’s heavy and won’t move when the dogs smack it around. It’s definitely overkill and you could absolutely do what I used to and put a rock in a bowl, but it looks cool!

My friend and I used to make simple Dark Forces maps and sprites, and I can’t imagine us doing that today (maybe them, they became a graphic artist). The level of complexity is enormous compared to what we had then. And very few amateurs were creating full blown experiences. The tools might be better now for creating

2007: We’ve launched a phone *with only one button*!

So much time in Dark Forces back in the day! A friend of mine and I were super into the early days of modding, creating new sprites and maps for DF while we were in junior high.

My dislike of multiplayer gaming started back then. People were insufferable assholes long before voice chat. At least multiplayer was by and large a secondary effort in game publishing - yes, it was super popular, but it was always the “other part” of a game. It’s not like I couldn’t play D2 or Quake solo.

Wow, my roommate wasn’t an isolated thing. I literally had to throw out my desk chair because he would use my computer to login with his alt when I wasn’t around, and the chair started smelling like a diaper.

Also, our part of the dorm was essentially the wild west, because our RA did nothing but play Everquest. You

Right, that’s kind of silly advice unless you get a legendary non-class drop, but that would be rare. Storing a bunch of yellow wands won’t really help another character - by the time you level high enough, you’ll probably have already gotten as good or better gear than what you stashed. Don’t waste stash space unless

They haven’t announced many specifics, but in D3 seasons had different themes. There are usually seasonal-specific items that fit into the theme. One season, for example, you might get a buff to a certain weapon or damage type. It’s partially a way to keep competition fresh, partially a way to encourage different play

Ditto - try as I might to absorb the story by resisting the urge to skip dialog, I still only grasp the broad strokes.

It’s mostly a minor inconvenience for me since I’m not a hardcore player, but I’ve definitely had it freeze up and require me to close and restart it on my Series X and Series S when trying to enter dungeons. That said, it’s been like twice in playing daily since early access, so from my perspective it’s fine - but I

Definitely can’t imagine them doing this for every single person out there, but I feel like if there are ways of verifying a game crash or non-user-side disconnect (evidence like watching it happen live, or server logs, whatever), Blizzard should have some way of bringing back HC characters.

I haven’t looked up any builds, just going with what I like. Basically just by doing campaign > new area > side quests > repeat with minimal wandering, I came into Act IV with my sorcerer at 50. I would say I started feeling like I was hitting hard enough for fights not to take forever around 40.

Maybe it’s the amount

I think you could say that about a lot of top-tier competitions. When an olympian shaves a millisecond off a record, maybe there was a minute change in conditions. I imagine it would be very difficult to create truly identical conditions in any competition involving physical objects.

I agree about the enthusiasm. It’s incredible to see people so filled with genuine joy and surprise. I watched the video with mild curiosity, but the excitement was infectious and gave me a needed boost this morning.

No spooiler alert??

I’m a sucker and decided to feed the ridiculous money machine and snagged Lightfall on Xbox. My Series S is upstairs and my PS5 downstairs, so I have the stupid platform gap. It’s ridiculous that the seasonal content is cross-platform, but I have to buy the expansion separately. But at 33 bucks, it’s nice to grind my

Well that’s the thing - I’m referring to ‘community’ in the sense of ‘people I see complaining online.’ Which is also admittedly way less interaction than I have than when I was reading the forums all the time.

I never even touched the ultra max/min level of play in D3, but I still have thousands of hours in it from playing nonstop for years from launch, and on and off in the interim.

Is it just me or are notifications broken?
