My mother-in-law has ALS. It hit her like a ton of bricks. Her mind is sharp, but her body is going to shit. I predict she'll be dead in a year. It's a terrible, terrible thing to watch. And now, with her having it, I worry about my wife. Anything that brings attention to this is a good thing.

Por Favorlove.

Who's bringing the Bacardi?

That's Chuck Yeager leaning on the fuel tank. Great picture.

The leashes get a bad rap, but when my twin boys were young, we used them from time to time. Airports, hiking trails, any place where we could get separated very easily and quickly. Most people who deride the tethers either don't have kids or have never lost one.

I like the flag idea. I advocate the photo suggestion because the one time I did lose one of my kids I couldn't for the life of me remember what he was wearing.

Where's George Kennedy when you need him?

This is a great idea, and we have done this. But if you don't have any bright clothes, use your phone and take a picture of your child at the beginning of the day. We lost one of our 4-year-olds (we have twins) at an air show once, and the first thing they asked me was, "What is he wearing?" I had no idea. I had

I admit that I got a little lump in my throat watching Schumi go through in 2010....

Thanks for the add'l info. Kinja question: Did my starring your reply move it out of the gray?

I nominate Operation Dynamo, the rescue of British, Belgian and French forces from the beaches of Dunkirk in 1940 after being surrounded and cut off by German forces. When military assets weren't sufficient to rescue the beleaguered soldiers, many were picked up by "the little ships of Dunkirk," a flotilla of 700

I would like to see Rossi teamed with Williams. Then they could market the combination as "Martini & Rossi." Say yes!

I'm a more of a Punch/Partagas/Fuente guy, but I'm always looking for something new. Thanks for the tip.

The next time I see my friend, which will be soon, since I smoke too many cigars, I will see if I can ask him about this and get the right details. It's pretty clear that in my attempt to comment on the OP I have screwed up facts, which bring into question the integrity of all involved. And that was never my

Thanks for the breakdown.

And to clear something up that I wrote, the competition he spoke of didn't occur during a show weekend. I apologize if I'm unclear on the details. I am not a pilot, but I know there is a certain amount of rivalry amongst them, particularly inter- and intra-service, and that any story told by an old salt should be

Thanks for the reply. I can assure you, I am not making the story up. I don't work that way. And I don't have any reason to believe that my friend is, based on the other stories that he has shared. It's possible that I have not transmitted the details correctly, and for that I apologize. But I assure you, he is

If you enlarge the video and watch it in higher resolution, you will see that the van stopped beyond the wreck. I don't know if the driver got out to help, but he may have decided that it was easier/safer to continue past the wreck and then stop. But it's impossible for us to know what he was thinking.

Yeah, you must be right about that.
