You can watch the whole series on Netflix. I grew up watching that show, and Emergency!. An entire generation learned about the police and rescue business watching those shows, and while they were campy, there was a lot of factual information there.

What airport was this? Getting hassled by the police depends a lot on where you set up. Dedicated observation points should be no problem. If you're in a place you probably shouldn't be, expect to be asked to leave. It seems to me that frisking is a bit over the top, though.
