I don't know if it's intentional, but I'm definitely getting the same vibe from Keith David's Elroy that I remember from Herbie Hancock in a Bose infomercial.

The skipped time scenes don't have any difference in the time of day, though, at least the ones where daylight is visible. There might have been shifts in time of day that occurred indoors and away from a window, but I don't recall

Season 6 came along at the same point of my life that season 6 reflected; just out of college, pointless job, no direction in life. Really easy to relate to at that time

As for the cremation, the reason why it was "bad" was not how they disposed of her, but that they obviously skipped any sort of forensic examination and had no intention of investigating anything.
