Most of us voting Lib Dem did so to stop the Tories. In my area Labour had no chance, but Lib Dems did. They did win, just, and when the coalition happened my MP quit because of how unhappy she was with the move.

It wasn’t only to save his own throne though. Inciting anarchy within England or going to war with Russia would have been disastrous for the people he swore to serve when he became King and Head of the Church. Even Napoleon had to give up when he lost hundreds of thousands of soldiers while warring with Russia.

My name actually is Anastasia, so when this movie came out, my mom bought me every piece of merchandising that she could find.

If Justin Trudeau can explain quantum computing to a layperson, it gives me hope that someday a layperson can explain basic economics to Justin Trudeau.

Yeah I disagree pretty strongly with this. I once dated a man who refused to have premarital sex and didn’t do oral. Everything was manual. You’d think it was terrible, but goddamn, I’ll never have sex that good again.

WHAT

On that note; I once inserted a tampon with icyhot traces on my fingers. Big mistake. Big.

I think women are incapable of giving a good handjob. Mostly because I am incredibly lousy at it, don’t know how to get better, and my evil gay guy BFF just laughs at me when I ask him to explain how to do it.

I’d show them the mortality rates from measles vs. autism. I’ll take autism over measles pneumonia, measles encephalopathy, measles cornea damage, and measles ear infection any day of the week.

There is both autism and severe immuno-deficiency in my family. No one has gotten into an anti-vax argument with me and escaped with their asshole intact. Just point me where you need me.

I’ve heard that a lot from people asking questions about vaccine safety — they heard something nefarious about the government hiding information about vaccines, or about vaccine manufacturers being exempt from lawsuits, and then it all seems so plausible, especially if you already distrust the government, to think

—Several parents said they were wary of the MMR vaccine because measles is usually temporary while autism is permanent—

Can we cull the parents instead?

What I’m saying is that if you don’t vaccinate, the natural immunity people speak of disregards the fact that in order for people to be immune to diseases thousands are going to die in the process. The genetic resistance to diseases takes generations. Anti-vaxxers seem to be okay with the culling of their young

Actually, there is a strong correlation between antivax attitudes and a high educational level. Well educated and smart aren’t exactly the same thing, but the antivaxxers I’ve met have all been very intelligent.

So you’re saying that by vaccinating, we’re interfering with the natural course of evolution? Sounds like we’d be a stronger species without them. Makes a better argument against vaccines than any other I’ve heard!

“Fact resistance” is a very apt term I heard the other day. Even with mountains of facts, these people dig their heels into the ground and refuse to accept that vaccines do not cause autism

In 2011, there was a rather big outbreak of measles in the Somali refugee community in Minnesota. Many of the cases were children too young to be vaccinated. As Minnesota public health officials tried to encourage the entire Somali community to vaccinate and stop the outbreak, what did Andy Wakefield — not a doctor

The problem with people leaving it up to mother nature to naturally immunize their special snowflakes: mother nature is harsh, cruel, and will kill off your little ones if they are not strong enough to fight off whooping cough. Thats kind of how it works. Nature is not all Wholefoods and corn-syrup free, locally

i grew up in a developing country and i now fight tooth and nail to get funding for vaccines in developing countries; this is not only rage inducing but actually just causes me to curl up in my office and sob. i can’t.....
