@pezeveng319: how is it a mess? I have an android phone and find it simple to navigate and with the exception of a few apps that state very clearly "only for " in the description everything works.

@thinkthis: I actually bought a Droid incredible looking for a bit of a tinkering experience, but so far it has been "drop dead simple" not so much as a hiccup with anything at all.

@not_a_virus.exe.vbs: the text to speech is built into the os, you can find an options menu for it in settings. Not sure if you can change it though.

@Interstella5555: Just replace "iphone" with "smartphone" is most giz articles and they stop seeming so biased.

I love how gizmodo makes such a big deal out of these when their favorite (you really can not deny it) the iphone is more locked down that any android phone could ever be.

@Marquis de Saab: They have to have something to justify that huge defense budget.

@sgtsween: Are we paranoid? yes, i will be the first to admit that. We over react at the slightest touch and vigorously protect rights we may not even have. But i will you now, the day that there are no more people wearing tin foil hats and scrutinizing every government move will be the day that we will slowly begin

@Buzz Mega: it has to be A cost effective (too expensive to make is smaller) B have a huge battery life (months, years) so the size is justified.

well, this may be the only thing that can get the U.S space program off of the ground, a race to mars with China.

@Celtic1888: oh, it would work and work very well. The issue is that it relies on people being motivated by a rotonal mind with the goal of creation.

@Celtic1888: Uh not really, rands version of the future showed humanity racing to better tech at break neck speeds, because if rand had her way there would be less advertising more "my product is just 1000 times better". the race to make better products than the compition and sell them for cheaper would take us into

@Celtic1888: What is Ayn Rands version, i was not aware that she wrote any sci fi or even spoke of the distant future.

@deanhatescoffee: i would love to have that setup in my house, we have a media center pc but we dont really use it, all the while we have so many tv's that our cable signal needs a huge amount of amplification to be usable.

What android phones currently force you to use bing search?

@Unholy_Hero: i know this, thats what me and freedomweasel are confused about. we think it must interface with the computer in some way, its the only way to get this system to work.

@freedomweasel: my guess is that it takes any screen movement commands that have not passed through the controller and tries to counter them.

@moonshadowkati: i assume the controller simulates a joystick movement in the opposite direction, that should at least dampen if not total cancel out the recoil.

@Costermonger: i once knew a guy who tried to run his system without a cpu fan.
