Well, it's not at all a mark of quality, and I'll always defend a person's right to enjoy a piece of media in spite of it's flaws (pertaining to matters like diversity in gender/race/ethnicity etc.), but I'm of the mind that unless the specific aim of a piece of work is to accurately depict the world at any point,

It's been document that the 1940's marked a huge change in black women's wages and the the job opportunities presented to them - I mean, regardless of the fact that history itself backs up the want for more representation for WOC in this show and many other stories/properties, of ALL the things people have said they'd

He's got quite the TRACK RECORD, eh?

Also, I'm curious about that parallel of Patty saying 'Bye Barry' on the train, something we saw Felicity do last season? In a very similar context, too, as both characters sort of reach a 'There's probably no romance in our future' sort of conclusion…

She did kind of say she'd like to say - she told him, crying and walking away after his denial, that it would have been nice to stay. I think the episode made it pretty clear she was willing to make that choice if he would just be honest with her, and I doubt it was lost on Barry.

From what I recall, it was Harrison that made Barry rethink telling Patty - he'd been prepared to and then Harrison sad some stuff, and then events took place that managed to support the stuff Harrison said, and Barry copped out. I agree, though, that 'I must protect those close to me' is bull, and also boring.

I liked the episode, but it was definitely crammed. Though, considering how much they're doing this season, it's somewhat impressive that this is the first episode that has FELT this busy.
This is going to sound petty I imagine, but I HAVE to think more people would be angry about the

I'd argue the first TPB reference was the healers cave - particularly the wide shot called to mind The Pit Of Despair. Based on that and the whole set-up, really, I'd already experienced hope that they'd make the 'Mostly dead' joke and then disappointment when it didn't happen in the song. But in the end, I don't

I love this show primarily for how much it makes me laugh, but only SLIGHTLY secondary is how much I genuinely care about the different relationships, and this season especially has gone a long way toward making me love the Charles/Jake friendship (which, in the first two seasons, wasn't exactly a low point, but was

I didn't think Liv scratching him was self-serving - there are a lot of people who could benefit from Ravi finding the cure. I HAVE to think Liv was taking the big picture into consideration. If they don't find the cure, Drake is screwed, but if they do, it was worth his (what would then be temporary) zombification?

Very happy about Iris in this episode. The show has been letting her down a lot, and I'm definitely annoyed that the writes had her draw a comparison between her keeping a secret for a couple of weeks and Barry and Joe keeping his identity a secret from her for a YEAR, as if she was downplaying how much that upset

Precisely.

I actually thought of Chastity's line when I wrote that but completely forgot about Bianca's response. The only 10 Things line I quote with any regularity is "I still maintain he kicked himself in the balls", and that quote is hell to find good context for.

(Sorry about length. Too tired when posting this to reread or edit so it reads like my thought train in real time probably.)
I'm Irish! Can I ask why you asked? I'm curious…
Parks and Rec did a great job with it. I do think that's got a lot to do with writing as much as it has to do with pace, and getting to the point.

As someone who's rarely very invested in romance in TV shows (even the romances I like), I'm actually quite confused as to why so many are similarly not-so-invested in Jake and Amy. I think the show has done a really good job with them. It's never too heavy-handed, it's never really been a source of huge drama as

Agreed. His apology was kind of mild considering what he'd been trying to do. I know one of the big things about the show is that they're both messed up, in their own ways, and can both be terrible, but there's their typical brand of terrible and then there's Trying To Trick Your Girlfriend's Body Into (Incredibly

Five months on this reply is probably out of nowhere, but the joke was basically a reference to the rom-com trope of woman/man (usually a woman, though) who's at the airport, about to get on the plain to embark on a new chapter of their life after a whirlwind romance with a man/woman who shows up JUST in the nick of

I'm glad the show has let Iris figure it out. That they chose to use her being lied to as a source of drama remains inexplicable - the reason it works with something like Rami's Spider-Man trilogy is because Peter Parker keeps his secret from just about everyone. The reason Liv lying to everyone she loves in iZombie

And look at Wells, twisting an innocent primate with computer enhanced mind control to live out his sick and perverted fantasies of criminal power.

Did Liv's 'The Lannister's send their regards' remind anyone else of Rachel Duncan? If I hadn't been watching as she said it I might have thought Tatiana Maslany had jumped in, very suddenly, for a brief and inexplicable cameo.
