Oh man, whenever I hear Cream's Crossroads I immediately flash back to that scene.

"Breaking Away". There's something about those scenes where the kids are swimming in the quarry that just resonates with me. (Also the university scenes later in the film, as I live in a university town.)

I suspect these type of films do well in DVD sales. Something to keep the kids occupied for an odd hour or so.

"Unchained Melody" for that great romantic pottery scene in "Naked Gun 2 and 1/2: The Smell of Fear". (Also "Ghost".)

"Adagio for Strings" always reminds me of Willem Dafoe's fateful scene in "Platoon".

Good picks. In my case that was the first time I heard "Heart of the Sunrise".

Really? I felt he was one of the more balanced characters. He's a bit of an ass but also somewhat charming.

Sheesh, the writers were a bit heavy on the cliches in the first episode. I realise that for the most part it's intentional, but it does get a bit trite in some places. Although once the story really kicks in it isn't as noticeable. And I wasn't quite sold on Ryder's character at first, but it too got better.

As I understand it the broadcasting rights are owned by our major satellite TV provider (the company is a bit of a media monopoly in the country). It seems they also own the rights to the newest seasons of House of Cards. Luckily they did not seem to be interested in the other Netflix originals, which meant we could

Oh, it's pretty dire in my country too. I'd estimate we get less than 10% of the US catalogue. Still have to pay the full price though.
We even can't get Orange Is The New Black over here.

Well said.

I had a quick peek at the rating websites, and most critics seem to give this season a middling score. However, viewer ratings are much higher (mid-80s percent).

My favourite supporting roles this season are from the the O'Bannons. Sevigny has always been good, but especially McShane's work as Eric in the final episode.

Ah, I stand corrected. Thanks.

I don't know who or what Norbert Leo Butz was channeling in this episode, but he really hit the hot headed youngest sibling nail on its head.
I was actually frustrated by a television character. That's quite a rare and commendable feat.

I've been wondering this as well. Maybe I'm experiencing the pacing differently as I'm watching this on my own schedule with no obligation to hand in a revue by a specified time?

Heh, I am not. Perhaps I should've said relatively obscure in a modern day context.

Oddly, the first time I've heard a version of Assault's theme it was from the game Xenon 2, which itself was taken from a remix called Megablast from an obscure one man band called Bomb the Bass.

This was one of the better AVQ&As. Very relatable.

I don't know if The Doors can be considered a "beloved masterpiece". Especially not in these parts.
