There’s an animated Vixen miniseries/movie that isn’t too bad.

Just like that Portlandia skit ruined the word “Cacao” for me, now every time I see Aziz I get grossed out and think “The Claw.”

I vaguely remember playing it. The Monopoly money instead of being $10, $50, $100 was $10M, $50M, $100M, and all of the properties had cheesy 80's designs that were very “Patrick Nagel-y,” beyond that I just remember that the game was a slog to get through.

I think the reviewer might see the movie’s reliance on nostalgia and intertextuality (referencing movies within movies within movies..) as a crutch that is simultaneously propping up and undermining a story and group of characters that are otherwise not as well developed as the stories they are referencing.
