After you cook bacon, dump the grease into a jelly jar or something, straining it through a coffee filter to get all the bits out. You can then freeze it or put it in the fridge. I use it to season my iron skillets, sauté onions, fry green beans, put it in mashed potatoes. It’s not for everything but it works…

There is a good book called “Debt: the first 5,000 Years” that explores the development of capitalism & money at a historical level. It is a dense but good read that investigates how we got to where we are today.
