I’m no art expert but Edward Hopper is my favorite painter (American at least). Something about the color combos he uses is really lovely to me. “Nighthawks” has for years been my wallpaper on my computer at work, and I’ve been looking at “Automat” a lot lately.

Even speaking as a member of the privileged gender, I find Young’s diagnosis of Hollywood attitudes to be completely true. You’re told to accept abuse and belittlement from more powerful people, and the minute you take a stand, suddenly you’re the one with an ego problem. It’s an industry run by sociopaths.

It’s a little different when it’s a therapy session, not least because it sets a crappy precedent for the rights of other patients and the publicity machine could impact their recovery. It’s one of the reasons ‘Celebrity Rehab’ is destructive crap, too.
