Anyone in the car business should know the diff between the base GTI and the top trim level.  This was no doubt a scam to lure you in and try to sell you the S or another car while there.  I’d bet this dealer does the four square crap too

I think using up the water table in the area is certainly a concern, esp in the west where water is a big issue.
