Acura seems so lost. We need to replace my wife’s SUV sometime soon and Acura should be in the conversation, but their offerings are meh. Hardly that much of an improvement from the Honda’s they’re based on.

This is gonna make joint custody fun

Both our mazdas and BMW have this as an option. Get out, walk away and the car locks automatically.

Pretty sure this won’t be initially targeted at long haul routes. Lots of <300 mile routes available using semis where this might be applicable.

Sounds like you’ll fit right in at one of Elon’s companies!

Watching him deal with a complicated sw environment at Twitter has made me 100 percent sure I’d never trust Tesla software to drive me around.

That was my first car too. 79 Datsun 510 wagon.

The prioritization of freight is a problem for passenger travel, but contributes to the generally low cost of consumer products in the US. Freight by train in the US is cheap and reliable.

That’s an insane weight for a bike. We have a cruiser e-bike that’s about 45lb. You can feel the extra weight on that, I wouldn’t want to go over the mid-50s

So why didn’t Tesla support know this and talk him through it if the solution was this easy?

So this isn’t ok, but requiring every foreign manufacturer to partner with a chinese firm in order to build and sell in china was ok?

Gonna need a better fast charger network or lots of chargers at hotels for the hertz thing to work out smoothly.

Not that VW cares, but the GTI would have been my next new car till they screwed up the UI so badly. Not sure what will replace it, maybe I’ll just go for a plugin hybrid

Off topic, but wow how far Honda has fallen.

I don’t believe it.  Also keep in mind their measure of quality is ridiculous.  It’s essentially the number of problems reported, no matter what severity.  That could be that Jimbo couldn’t figure out how to change a setting in the infotainment.  That might be interesting data, but isn’t the same as ‘transmission

I’m pretty sure these will only be used to transport the crew to the launch pad.  I’m a big NASA supporter, but this seems a waste of money.  There’s no reason not to just use vans at <1/3 the cost.  Switch to electric transport when there are reasonable options in the market.  Custom built is a waste of money

NC has a democratic governor, which explains the emissions statement. No way you’d hear any of the NC republicans making that statement.

This is the correct answer

I think I’m ok with a 150m range. 100 is going to quickly degrade in winter. There are days I drive more than 60m and I’d like to do so w/o worrying whether I can make it home if I run the heater.

Curse engineers who do this.
