There’s a teaser video kicking around the interwebs with sound. It’s amazing!

I for one welcome our new flat plane crank overlords!

It probably can but probably for longevity/warranty (of the motor or trans?) they reduced it. I’m sure some tuner will uncork it to 9k.

You really need to question why you would spend 3-5x what this costs for the exotics. I honestly think it sounds better than any of the Ferrari V8 stuff(which is pretty damn impressive on it’s own). The carbon wheels, the grip, downforce. It does it all at a fraction of the price. I bet it’s way more reliable too.

I live here in Austin. I went to the first race and enjoyed it but the TV coverage is a million times better to watch than actually being there IMO. I would never go through the hell you just described to watch a race in person.

I rented a GR86 to drive around the Nürburgring. That was pretty fantastic!

the first standard hybrid pickup in America” I really want standard to mean standard transmission.

Actually a very impressive output for an OHV motor. Usually these crate motors are pretty underwhelming to me but this I like.

I feel like any of the “safety” reasons for owning an SUV are moot when you consider they are much more likely to tip over, have longer stopping distances and are much harder to control in an emergency situation than a sedan or wagon would be.

I like the function over form design of it. it doesn’t look crazy because crazy styling doesn’t make the best performing, easiest to drive fast car.

Since I couldn’t attend this show 2,000 miles away here is my Mazda6 manual trans wagon

I’m a mechanical engineer. A few years ago my company lost out on a big contract, laid off 95% off the company. I worked as an auto mechanic for 18 months then went back to the engineering thing. When I had to pivot I pivoted. I had other skill sets I could go to. It’s on the individual to improve yourself and get out

Mclaren F1. I was lucky enough to get up close and personal with a race version of one years ago. I doubt many people in general ever would get to see one though.

They could just quit and get a different job like a normal person..

Can this monstrosity be delayed forever please?

I wonder if you got a dud? I have an older 40v XR Dewalt mower and it’s been bullet proof. I have ~5,000 sq ft of lawn and one 6ah battery usually does it no problem. I also have a 4ah one for when it’s really long and the 6ah doesn’t cut it.

This sounds like a big deal but really isn’t. Everyone is going electric for this type of equipment anyway. This became glaringly obvious a few months ago when I went Home Depot. The lawn mower department went from 80% gas mowers/20% electric to the exact opposite in a week.

Mindless sheep. Unions suck. If you need one YOU are the one not doing right by you. I’ve never needed a union to get me a raise, get better benefits. I either just straight up asked for them or found another job. This is all predicated on you actually having some kind of talent people want to pay for. If all you can

Premix a renesis and keep it cool and it will go just as long as the earlier motors. The miserable reliability of them comes from mazda cutting WAY back on oil injection and severely restricting air flow through the engine bay. I’ve had two that went over 150k and were still running perfectly when I sold them.

Steering on these are terrible but they’re kind a fun in a slow car fast way. You can hang the back end out at well below legal speeds all day. Having driven a low mileage one recently the biggest thing that sticks out is how quiet it was and how well it rides.
