I love how they made it a little smaller so it was easier to use. Then how they actually reduced the capabilities to make it lighter since a survey showed that 85% of their customers just commute with it and never haul anything. All this in the name of efficiency and making other people safer on the road. Way to go

That is the majority of people. Most hate haggling, hate it. Only new car I ever bought was an FR-S. One of the main reasons I got that over a BR-Z is it was a set price. No dealer haggling or BS. What you see is what you pay, end of story. The current dealer model needs to die and the sooner the better.

Low octane fuel?? Low octane fuel does not burn faster. The only difference is it’s resistance to knock. That is it(well some brands put in extra additives in premium). It burns at exactly the same rate is high octane fuel.

I highly doubt they be pulling registrations for muscle cars which are just as unsafe. Maybe more since they can attain much higher speeds. All of the specialty car laws seem to be dudes who think muscle cars are the only possible car anyone should drive that is a classic. If it’s not that it’s garbage.

HP/L means a lot to me. The higher this number the smaller an engine I need to lug around. Weight is the enemy of EVERYTHING in a car.

Great article but I take issue with a comment in the beginning- Increasingly violent world. Contrary to popular belief we are living in the safest time EVER. The news has just warped our perspective to believe otherwise.

Here is my problem with F1- The racing is downright boring and basically unwatchable IMO. I’m not sure what you do to fix it. Maybe drivers have realized this also and are switching to a more dynamic series for better racing?

But you are still limited by the contact patch of the tire

Every single generation of WRX has looked worse than the one that preceded it. Why would we expect this to be any different?

The reason they haven’t gone all in on electric is they were all in on hydrogen fuel cells. They even lobbied the US government to roll back EV requirements since they had bet on the wrong horse. The lobbying efforts failed so now they have no choice. Anything else they say is corporate PR BS.

You’d probably have a generator with you anyway. Could use that to recharge. Does kind of ruin the no emissions in the pristine wilderness thing though.

You are being extremely short sited then.

Wow everything I hate in an EV rehashed. How exciting! Can we please start making normal vehicles and not bad knock offs of the starship Enterprise that just also happen to be EV’s?

We have a 3rd gen and the back seat is tight for our 2 & 5 year old kids car seats. We ended up buying a Mazda 6 manual wagon for road trippin with the kids. It’s sad to get what you want it has to be 15 years old. The reliability of a new car would be nice.

We were inches from buying a manual accord. It was the only manual trans car that was decently quick and had a back seat big enough for a child seat. We looked at Subaru wagons, Caddy ATS, Kia, Hyundai. All had the same size back seat as the Mazda 3 we were out growing.

Was that bad?  Minus the MZR turbo motor what would have been better?

My daily is an 04 MANUAL Mazda 6 wagon. It’s a great car minus the constant of seeping of oil from every gasket.

Great looking car but being auto only it fell off our shopping list very quickly.

Mazda 6 wagon. Extremely hard to find but under $5k all day long. Engines are good for 225hp. Problem areas are front lower control arms(cheap and easy to replace) and oil leaks(cheap but not easy to fix). There’s also the fact that you’d be very hard pressed to see another on the road which is kind of neat.

They definitely were available as manuals but pull stupid money when they do show up for sale.
