They're an amazing band, yes. They're also thieves who didn't pay or give songwriting credits to the people they stole from (until sued - multiple times) - lyrics wholesale, songs wholesale, presented as their own with their names as the songwriters - that's not inspiration, that's theft.

I would say "inspired by" Chic, not ripping them off. Yes, it's similar (though not the same), and the best musicians are always learning new tricks and ways to play from each other.

French Horn?

Green Day never met a riff they didn't like (to steal).

Who are you calling a Ju?

I'm sorry, did you say Mila Kunis is "average looking"? With that inane comment, how are we supposed to take anything you see seriously?

Timothy Omundson's fictional character was, oddly, introduced as host of Fusion's No, YOU Shut Up - was that a shout out to Paul F Tompkins, or was he maybe supposed to be on the show? It had me a bit confused…

Well, considering they themselves are black, and they're normally the only ones in the sketch, that's probably why it's always black players.

Jebidiah was so on fire I thought it was Richard Pryor at the Update Desk.

I'll say this for Mraz- the ladies LURV him. I was in Tucson a couple years ago, hanging out in a bar next to the concert venue he was at - after the show the bar filled up with a large array of 30ish women who were still tingling with Mrazgasms. It ended up being a rather fun night. Thanks Jason!

Ironically, he's making their job easier, since they can fill oodles of column space filled with hypocritical righteous indignation and not even even have to refer to notes!

Not as bad I assumed it was going to be, and Wishing Boot was easily the best of the night (Aidy's take on a Winonaish singer was hilarious). It was very cute after Shelton said his good nights and everyone hugs - he and Leslie Jones slow danced together for a bit.

Funches is a giant giggly hilarious teddy bear, and he is pretty much unstoppable (like PFT and Doug Benson) on @M.

I'm more partial to his nonfiction pieces as well - which have many of the literary flights exhibited in his fiction - but due to the constraints inherently placed on them they are more grounded and focused.

Listen to PTA's great interview w/ Marc Maron on WTF from a couple weeks ago.

God, I have to see that again. I had it on VHS. Such a fantastic film.

Best funny/sexy food scene ever is from the exceedingly entertaining Tom Jones with a ludicrously young and charming and handsome Albert Finney: https://www.youtube.com/wat…

Well, I didn't name more than a few of his movies. And while I enjoy Diddlebock (a sort of sequel to Harold Lloyd's The Freshman), it doesn't have the same incisive, satiric look at societal foibles as, say, Morgan's Creek.

Despite (because of?) the screwball shenanigans, Sturges was very progressive with many of his stories - the easy come easy go divorce attitude in the PBS, the unwed mother of Miracle of Morgan's Creek (GREAT movie), the evisceration of politicians and the power behind them in The Great McGinty, the nerd love in Hail

He shoulda said Xanadon't. Then again, I'm sure the yacht or whatever that movie paid for is still getting good use…
