Although I certainly wouldn't put the crap-fest that was Studio 60 on Perry's shoulders.

Oh, man - Don McLean's American Pie, the be all (for better or worse), end all song about other artists.

I was going to say "We're An American Band"…by Grand Funk Railroad.

I heard tell it was a cardboard box.

Semantics…

Alex Chilton by The Replacements immediately pops to mind. Off the top of my head: Sir Duke by Stevie Wonder (Duke Ellington). Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd (Syd Barrett). Night Shift by The Commodores (Marvin Gaye). Jackie Wilson Said by Van Morrison. How Do You Sleep by John Lennon (McCartney). Steve Earle by

How could you forget "We're The Fugs"?! They somehow made the cover of Life magazine in 1967, and Johnny Carson wanted to have them on The Tonight Show. They said "Sure, as long as we can play our song "Kill For Peace"…The Tonight Show refused, and The Fugs said adios to Johnny.

I'm just gonna throw out my love for the short running comic strip, Citizen Dog by Mark O'Hare (who also did Rocko's Modern Life). Easily one of the best written and drawn strips since the passing of Calvin and Hobbes. http://visualhumor.files.wo…

Watched Remo WIlliams again not too long ago. There are some really good bits there, but Joel Grey in pseudo yellow face is pretty hard to watch - which is too bad because he's funny in the role - and get this - Roddy McDowell plays Chiun in the TV version. Yeesh.

I think Neil's doing just fine, as he co-created and co-wrote Chappelle's Show with Chappelle. He gets $ for every airing/dvd sale/stream/etc. He's thrilled Chappelle took off! Ah, wait, rereading, I misinterpreted what you meant by took off!!

My one degree of Lame Claim to Fame: I met Weird Al when I worked at an art gallery in Venice, CA. He'd purchased a large painting and came in to pick it up. He was a very nice guy, got to chit chat with him for about 10 minutes.

The more his '8 videos in 8 days on 8 Different Outlets' thing goes on, the more I admire how simple and brilliant it is in terms of promotion. Because every day for 8 days, Weird Al gets a massive click baity free promo in god knows how many pop culture/comedy/music/nerd oriented

A shame you don't mention either the obvious precursor to this show, 'Burning Love' (a great multi seasoned parody of 'The Bachelor' and 'Bachelorette' - from the same production company I believe) or the great work by the men on the show as well (including the always fantastic Stephen 'Ned Ryerson' Tobolowsky)

What's so odd about it?

Not since 2005

Chances are
I'll punch you in the face
The moment you come into view
Chances are I'll break your nose and blood will spew

And the kid shoots Bill Murray at the end.

At first I read that as "Johnny Mathis hit my mom." Which was simultaneously funny and disturbing.

I have no idea, I watch it on my laptop.

Been a while since I've seen the covers, but I always thought of him as blonde… Looking at an array on google he's got lighter and darker hair depending on the cover, mostly on the brown end, but he's def blonde in the Malcolm McDowell movie poster.
