Instead of going to Pok Pok, go to Siam Sunset, Darabar, Pailin, Lacha Somtum, Sapp, Isaan Station, Rodded, Ruen Pair, Yai, Pa Ord, Hollywood Thai, Palms Thai, Sanamluang. Most over hyped food in Portland isn’t as good as a no-name restaurant serving the same food at a cheaper price.

Went to Pok Pok in Portland and LA. The wings tasted like I was eating a block of salt infused with garlic and fish sauce. Now I know why.

As someone who lives really close to Pok Pok, they’re good, but not something you’d be bummed out by if you never got to try them.

I have a few problems with this recipe -

1) Unless you’ve got a commercial-grade burner made just for woks, you’ll never boil off 1/8 cup of liquid in 45 seconds. And quite frankly, you should be worried about burning the sugar if you do that.

2) Who the hell needs to fill a pot with 3/4" of oil JUST to fry a few…

When I met Lu Bu for the first time in Dynasty Warriors 9 during the Battle of Hulao Pass I ignored my comrades and tried my luck. Thirty seconds later I watched him disappear from the battlefield and collected the meager loot he left behind.

I used to spend hour after hour playing the older Dynasty Warriors with friends on the couch- it was easily my favorite series but as it’s progressed they have spent less and less time on co-op to the point of simply dropping it..
