NWSL players didn’t organize until a couple of weeks ago, and still haven’t technically unionized. The players not on a national team have no CBA and no representation.

It’s nice of Deadspin to call itself out, and the Liga MX Femenil coverage was nice too. Does this mean we’ll see regular WNBA (or women’s soccer or fast-pitch or NWHL) coverage on Deadspin now? Maybe even just a blog to slot between “Adequate Man” and “Compete” in the header?

Even though these leagues don’t pay living wages, the distinction of being paid in a North American league is meaningful for a lot of these women, if for no reason other than concerning NCAA regulations on their scholarship eligibility.
