I am in fact kidding.

Very well done! :D

“The Nintendo 64 Turns 20 Years Old Today”

I don’t really disagree that it’s just“fine”. It’s not atrocious(except on Wii U). I only lamented that its launch was relatively rocky on top of everything else during development, and that’s a real shame. I was rooting for it.

Good.

!!!

Crowdfunding for games is still evolving, and devs and players are learning more and more. I, for one, like some newer crowdfunding that offers both Kickstarter-like donations + rewards and the option to -actually- invest and receive a set percent from the final game’s sales.

Such pressures seemed involved in this. The issue is biting off more than they could chew, and at a certain point, they had to release it. Hopefully this does help more people understand that Publishers have a real job and they are not just evil. Plus, Publishers regularly know that sometimes games just don’t work out

Quite. I hope folks with that issue will see a quick resolution. Comcept seem to want to make it right.

I certainly think a delay in receiving codes was to be expected, and many were just looking for a reason to join the hate train. I’d say some of the justified anger was over being sent the wrong codes and some codes actually causing glitches or freezes on the Wii U. By all means that is reason for being annoyed. I can

I happen to agree to some extent; I’d say this one is only notable in the way the lead devs on Mighty No. 9 have said themselves. They’ve said they clearly took on too many ports at once and it led to poor QA and distribution of the game. That seems to fit with what happened, and it’s a lesson for them and others to

heh. Appropriately grim.

I’m not the developer, and I’m not telling anyone to “swallow it”. By no means are you obligated to care about the intricacies of game development (though it does help temper crowdfunding expectations). I’m saying, “If you’re down about this mess, here’s a possible positive you can think of.”

It’s not a matter of them -just- being paid to accrue experience; that’s not how game development works or how game developers do their jobs.

Thank you. I am so honored. ;_;

This Akiba boy right here gets it.

Yeah, really crossing my fingers for the future. Rest well!

Nomura through the lens of Louis Vuitton was at least interesting. I think Nomura with restrictions(like reality) actually works relatively well. So there’s hope!

The devs actually gave a surprisingly frank post mortem stream on Twitch at launch. Seems like many of them get how they messed it up and let down many backers and devs on the team.

Yeah it’s a shame its mess of a development and all the nastiness around it will likely deter some, but I think its initial Kickstarter success will still have more positive for many devs like that.
