It hurts to read this, but I wouldn’t want to take away from these athletes what they are very clearly willing to die for.

I’ve always been of the opinion that if riders/drivers want to take these sort of risks ( presuming they understand the risks ) in dangerous events, they should be allowed to do so. That said, the frequent fatalities at the TT are still hard to accept as an outsider.
