We have to stop fighting each other. The only people who are benefitting are the Boomers and folks who are already rich (usually one in the same).

Eat his dog.

I’ve worked at my company since I was 19. I’ll be 30 next year. I’ve done everything right, worked my way up while finishing my degree. I make less than $17 an hour with a 4 year degree in my field. This year I got a measly raise while my company laid off 2000 low level employees like myself and the CEO got a 30%

Don’t blame this on Gen X. We don’t have any fucking money either. Still owe student loans - paying for elderly parents, little kids and dealing with 27 year olds who think they should have your job and your salary with 5 years experience to your 20. #justsayin

In my field, everyone temps for at least three years after they complete their masters degree. In my case, I worked for eight months a year, was laid off for four, and then would get picked up for another contract just as the money would run out (and just before prostitution would start to look like a valid option.)

I made more waitressing in bars than teaching in colleges. Everyone thinks this is hilarious - especially students who thought they were my "boss" because "we are paying YOU so much."

A bigger issue is that jobs that really just require a HS diploma(and used to) now require a 4 year degree AT LEAST, so you can show them you are adequately in high debt and likely to stay in their crappy job working for shitty managers, and enjoying their disappearing benefits forever. Or until they go under, get

So how much less are we earning after we factor in the increase in cost of living?

Tree fiddy.

Before people start in on knowing how much they make before I made it my major, shut the fuck up.

Probably don’t want to know.

But it’s cool, we can earn less because the job creators are able generate more wealth.

To keep for themselves.

Wages rose slightly in the mid-2000s, but have dipped again: the median overall hourly wage for a 30-year-old in 1984 was $18.99, in 2004 was $20.63 and in 2014 was $19.32.

I spend my paycheck on cat beds and manga.

You’re correct about everything except the artisinal mayonnaise because obviously we make our own.

It’s ok, I’m using my fine art degree to dry my tears :(

Accurate. I made more working in retail than I did as a preschool teacher.

I’m sorry, but you can’t pay a millenial anything decent, because they’ll just spend it on artisinal mayonnaise, vinyl copies of 90s albums, rainbow flag bandannas, and marihuana cigarettes.

Then it LITERALLY says she went on record as saying she was forced to resign. So.....what’s your point?

Omfg... I just can’t. I hope she sues the shit out of the school and wins more money than that fuckwad prick David Eubanks can even count, and I hope he loses his job as well. Plus, the kid who stole that picture off of her phone needs to be disciplined, both by the school and possibly by the justice department. What

Okay, they’re trying to say that a 16 year old who can probably legally drive is not to blame for this? 16 year olds are old enough to babysit, and they’re *certainly* old enough to understand personal property. Is it a good idea to leave them alone with your phone, even for a moment? Probably not, but that’s utterly
