Yeah, I’ll admit it’s pretty satisfying seeing Olynyk getting flattened (right when he’s complaining about his bullshit getting called!). It was still a dumb thing to do, because this was one time Olynyk wasn’t getting away with it. You’ve won that exchange; he’s the loser—until you shove him back.

Albert, my man i love you but youre reminding of Draper 2 years ago with the constant homer posts.

First of all, as a basketball euphemism, physical play is bullshit. Everything that happens on a basketball court is physical play. A bounce-pass is a physical play.

From a legitimately terrible writer. He deserves the Capitals and Wizards.

This is a terrible analysis of the events. Refs called both fouls correctly, then you go into some racial tirade or something. What’s your point, that Oubre should have been allowed to shove after the whistle and not be ejected?

The change in the emphasis of the rules was because of Malice in the Palace, not because AI had cornrows and baggy clothes. You should probably know that if you want to write an article like this.

Hot take: Shove taking place within the context of a basketball play where the shover gets called for a foul for said act, is fine. Shove taking place after the whistle, where the shover gets a running start to exact revenge for a harder than necessary foul that was already penalized within the rules of the game, is

Just going to assume this is satire written from the perspective of “If Bill Simmons was a Wizards fan”, and not a sane human’s actual thoughts.

Am I watching a completely different video here? Olynyck did not “ flatten Washington’s Kelly Oubre Jr. with a chest-to-chest two-handed shove.” I have no idea WTF you are watching if that’s how you interpret what you saw.

Claiming that these two “shoves” were equal is laughable at best...the majority of Gortat’s screens are just as dirty as Olynyk’s was, and neither of them get 45-foot running starts

So are you drawing an equivalence between the two? The screen and the shove? One was a very typical screen that happened in the course of play...the other was a targeted shove when play was not occurring. I don’t see how those distinctions aren’t important.

I don’t really have a problem with Oubre getting pissy and shoving Olynyk, but there’s no way that Oubre’s shove was an equal and opposite reaction to Olynyk’s hard/illegal/kinda bullshit screen

Everything that happens on a basketball court is physical play. A bounce-pass is a physical play.

I support your 100% impartial, unbiased take

This is a legitimately terrible write up.

Holy fuck is this a dumb take

This is homerism at it’s finest. Bill Simmons would be jealous, Burneko!

Yeah, he put Bannon—who looks like the lovechild of Philip Seymour Hoffman and Louie Anderson—on the National Security Council principles committee while demoting the head of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and the director of national intelligence.

-Appointed white supremacist political flunky to permanent place on the National Security Council and made the presence of the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and Director of National Intelligence optional.

...probably :(
