But it isn’t just white rural America or the supposedly uneducated. He won the majority of college-educated white men. He won a very large minority (around 45%) of college-educated white women. The problem in the white community (of which I am a member) goes much deeper than “rural” America.

This exactly—the national news media spent this entire election perplexed as to why anyone would consider voting for Trump (a view I happened to share), but for all of their thousands of think-pieces on the subject, they never really made a concerted effort to listen to people about their reasons or understand them.
