He’s channeling Morris Day and the Time once again.

Beauty & the Beast was one of my most favorite Disney movies, until I became an adult and realized that the story is creepy as fuck. Oh well. I still want a big yellow ballgown with off-the-shoulder sleeves and a giant library.

Really? I always wash my feet. But I tend to walk around the house barefoot, so they are probably the most dirty thing about me come shower time.

I’ve seen 2 or 3 commenters who criticize Gilbert for her well-documented history of cheating. Whether you agree with the criticism or not, pointing it out isn’t the MRA tantrum that you make it sound like.

She certainly gets bored easily. Having a dying lover must feel so noble and romantic. I hope her friend has a strong, stable support network.

A more plausible explanation is that she’s the sort of asshole writer that gets involved with people who she thinks would make a good story she can sell.

I love Capaldi. I was a big 10 fan, but the second Capaldi stepped out of the TARDIS in Deep Breat, I was absolutely hooked.

No mention of the role she’s ACTUALLY best known for, Amy Pond from Doctor Who? FOR SHAME.

Anyone who unironically uses “the female” as a phrase is immediately unqualified to talk about dismantling the patriarchy.

Yes, I am absolutely denying that “the majority of women demand large ornate engagement rings.” You’re ignoring poor women, non-American women, women who don’t like diamonds, women taking a political stand, women who don’t like jewelry, women who work with their hands and so rings are impractical, and so many other

You’re making some serious assumptions here. Women who out-earn their significant others do buy their own engagement rings, some men now wear engagement rings too, some women don’t wear an engagement ring at all. I have seen all three. You seem new to feminism but basically it’s about choice.

Anecdotal, but: my best friend paid for her own engagement ring with her tax return, because she was getting married and she likes diamond rings. Sometimes it’s just fun to have pretty things. *shrug*

I personally would buy more Dove products if they changed their marketing schtick from “~*~*~ you’re so beautiful inside and out and here are some naked ladies to remind you that we’re all beautiful ~*~*~*~*~” to “YOU’RE NOT BEAUTIFUL AND YOU DON’T HAVE TO BE. YOUR WORTH AS A HUMAN BEING IS NOT PREDICATED ON YOUR

THEY ARE THE DOUCHE TELLING WOMEN TO SMILE. Yes, that is exactly correct. When they do the “ALL women are beautiful!” schtick, it’s just a reinforcement of the idea that beauty is all-important.

Fuck those doors. I want one for things like "smart" or "adventurous" or "good with dogs." You know, things that matter.

YES. (Like the ad pictured at the top of this article—making women choose to walk through “beautiful” or “average” doors, and then telling them they’re wrong if they go through the “average” one, like that’s supposed to be helpful??? Motherfucker, that’s just a reinforcement of the idea that being beautiful is the
