I like this idea for mapping if friends have been traveling, but it's the filters that I can't stand about instagram. All I think of when I hear the word instagram is some hipster taking pictures of his fucking latte through a sepia lens.

If you use the app FlipBoard, not only can you silence people without unfollowing them, but you can "follow" people without actually following them on twitter using the "section" function. It's superb. It's also the best app out there period.
