Some people don’t like the...stringyness of snail products, but Mizon Black Snail cream is more like a regular cream. And it’s only $10 on Amazon. Snail mucin is a super common ingredient in Korean skincare.

I’m such a nerd for having researched this, but basically, the snails are “stressed” in some way (put on grating, squeezed, light electric shock) to produce more mucus. It’s hard to actually find info about each company’s gathering process.
Niacinamide is a great ingredient for lightening dark spots. Stratia’s Rewind and The Ordinary’s Nicinamide 10% are good options. They’re serums that lighten without the use of potentially harsh impact on the skin. Vitamin C also lightens dark spots, but can be tough on some skin in the higher dosages.
Haha—my Instagram handle is Snails4eva, so yes. I heart snail mucin. It’s so great for the skin. Research shows that it helps heal wounds faster (has antimicrobial properties)—twice as fast when paired with honey!
Yay, Beauty Thread! I had to drop my Ipsy sub a few months ago; they just weren’t sending me anything I liked. Maybe I’ll go back at some point.
I try not to be a brand loyalist (I think it can make you blind to their products that end up not working for you), but I have a lot of Cosrx. Everything of theirs that I’ve had has been effective for me, affordable, and they listen to what their customers want. For example, their Low ph Cleanser came from customers…
All of my Korean skincare knowledge (and products) came from online, unfortunately. In my post about building a routine, I have a bunch of resources about where to buy products, where to research/read about products, how to figure out what you might need for your skin, etc. I’ve basically spent the past 9 months…
Awesome! And I’m happy to help if you have any questions about getting started. (Don’t let my insanely long routine scare you—you can do as much or as little as you need/want.)
The applicator is pretty ingenious, actually. I can make sure I get exactly as much as I need on the brush without wasting any. I haven’t had an issues—you can control the amount that comes out pretty well.
Those liners are fantastic. I bought that little set you’re talking about and it convinced me that when I use those up, I should get the full size. Like Tupiniquim said, they glide on and last a long time. (I’m a big fan of Tarte in general.)
Have you seen the Two Faced Peach Palette? It might be what you’re looking for. Lots of pinks/oranges and neutrals. http://www.sephora.com/sweet-peach-eye-shadow-collection-palette-P407907?skuId=1806553&publisher_id=255779&sub_publisher=g&is_mobile=&sub1=&sub_keyword=&sub_campaign=381463959&sub_placement=&gdevice=c&gcl…
Agreed. I love pretty much all of Fresh’s products, but that cream lip treatment is really awesome. I also got a gift set with some of their lip serum in it and it’s really nice. I use the lip scrub, then the serum, then put on the cream lip treatment. I usually don’t have to reapply any lip stuff throughout the day.
That’s awesome—congrats! I’m writing for an audience of probably 3. haha. Oh, where our love of beauty products takes us.
Cool! I hope it’s useful. When you say you’re writing, too, does that mean you also have a blog? If so, please share the link! I can always use more skincare enabling. :)
Totally! Skincare is a big part of self-care for me. Although I just hit VIB Rouge, so clearly I just have an issue with buying stuff. Hence the title of my blog: https://ibuycrapsoyoudonthaveto.wordpress.com/
All of the Korean skincare shops have been having crazy sales since black Friday, so all of my money has gone to way too much skincare. Boxes have been showing up at my door pretty much every day. haha. (I have so much that I even started a blog so I could review products as a way to alleviate the guilt I have of…
I got the exact same Tarte palette and I LOVE it. The colors are so beautiful. It’s going to be my go-to travel palette.
Congrats!! Grad school is a grind and you deserve all the props for finishing! (And I totally feel you. No one but my friends who were also in grad school gave two shits when I got my PhD. People have no idea how tough graduate school is.)
Have you tried the Skin 79 bb cream? The one in the hot pink bottle has great coverage. I have a wide array of bb creams and it’s my heaviest coverage. It goes on a bit ashy and gray, but oxidizes pretty light. In fact, I have light/medium olive skin and have to blend it with a darker cc cream to get my correct color.…
I have been waiting so I could purchase the Elizabeth and James Bourbon Vanilla perfume. I got a sample and was shocked at how much I liked it. It’s really warm and kind of masculine and I love it. I bought a ton of other stuff, but I’m happiest with snagging that!
