I'm glad you mentioned Attack the Block. This list definitely needs a movie with a bit of a humorous take on sci-fi as well. Sci-Fi movies definitely tend to present a more pessimistic view of the future.

I know Inception is a fan favorite, but The Prestige is just a better all-around movie. It's a shame it always gets overlooked. HOW COULD YOU NOT KNOW?!
