I don't think it would be seen as offensive if it was handled well. As long as they're treated with respect like in the Paralympics I can't see an issue.

The reaction I've seen was overwhelmingly negative aside from reviews of episode 6. However people on here seem to have found more positive reviews so I'm guessing it's more of a mixed bag on the whole.

Cucumber has been a complete failure from what I've seen and heard. Ratings have been as low as 350k which is frankly appalling for a Channel 4 show at the heart of primetime. & aside from episode 6, I have read very little positive opinion towards the series.

Cucumber & Banana were passed from broadcaster to broadcaster before eventually Channel 4 decided to make the show. I believe it was originally intended to air on Starz in the US? But the show has been a critical and commercial failure in the UK. I hope it won't hurt future better made LGBT shows from airing in the UK.

The thing with Cucumber & Banana is they have been complete ratings failures here in the UK but they have also been slated by critics. So I'm worried UK broadcasters will blame the failure on the fact they were LGBT shows rather than the fact that people didn't enjoy the characters or writing.

Given how cruel she was to Brick in the last episode when his face showed far worse hurt and suffering, I'm sure she can handle it.

I would say recently Kanye West gets a similar amount of publicity but it tends to be more vehemently negative and is most likely tied into his ties with the Kardashians.

I can definitely see where you're coming from and if I were a long time fan who had been there for seven years I would most likely have appreciated it more. A "victory lap" is probably much appreciated when you've spent so much time having these characters grow and be a part of your life. My apathy towards the finale

I would like a Garry in my life but I would treat him with the respect he deserves.

Looking back I can't help but think the season 6 finale would have made a much better series finale. We got to see their hard work on the festival pay off and we got to see all the old favourite side characters back again.

I finally read through my huge stack of 20th Century Boys over Christmas and was absolutely blown away by Urasawa's work. I'd never read anything like it and was amazed by how perfectly he managed to shift between time periods without the narrative becoming confusing. Will definitely try and check out more of his work

It has been slowly increasing in the ratings which is a promising sign that the awards and positive word of mouth are finally starting to take effect.

I thought it was more a case of if he was going to be killed off by anyone he'd take it best coming from his daughter. (So sort of tying into the whole "you're my flesh and blood, there's nothing you could do that is unforgivable to me" thing.)

Didn't Jane say it was to soften the blow? (So they thought Rogelio would take the news of his character's death better coming from his daughter than anyone else.)

Having characters stay dead was a step in the right direction but one thing I didn't like about this season was the overuse of pointless fake outs. How many times did we need to see Ma Petite get killed only for her to not have actually been killed? It just seemed like a cheap way to shoehorn more shocks into the show

The narrator is wonderful. Instead of just being a method of lazy storytelling, Jane the Virgin has made their narrator an integral part of the show. I think having the narrator be an "outsider" rather than a character in the show really helps. It makes it feel like a friend telling you gossip which lends itself to

Yeah, I meant sorrow in the reaction on the show. I'd have still been happy!

Impractical Jokers works because the cast are genuine friends and the focus is definitely on trying to humiliate each other rather than humiliate unsuspecting members of the public. We had a UK version where the chemistry wasn't there and the show just fell completely flat and was painful to watch. So I don't hold

"Steal her jewellery and bury the bitch" was a pretty good reaction to her death at least. If it were an earlier episode there may have been some sorrow at her dying.

Definitely agree with your choice of Friends episode although it sounds like it isn't going to be the one that makes the list.
