"Plastic soul" was a term coined by Howlin' Wolf when asked, by a British journalist in the 60s, what he thought about the Rolling Stones. "Plastic soul, man…plastic soul" was his reply. The Beatles thought it was hilarious and titled their next album "Rubber Soul" in tribute.

I'm a big "Sherlock" fan and had completely dismissed "Elementary," out-of-hand, for precisely the reasons the author warns one should not do. But after reading the article and some of the comments I'm definitely going to check out "Elementary." One selling point for "Sherlock" I've not really seen mentioned here or
