Your post didn’t come across that way, it came across that because of restrictor plates cars go into the fence.

You mean they didn’t go into the fence before restrictor plates?

Good Morning Alanis!

But when you do something just for fun (emphasis on just) you want a manual

Many drivers used to run Lencos and the like, now every single truck uses a two-speed Powerglide. That’s Racing Darwinism in action, transmission arrangements have distilled to the best option.

So you wouldn’t have fun in either of these because they’re automatic?

Kyle Larson made a similar error while leading early in the race and also lost lost a right rear tire, which put him a lap down.

Very true. However, credit must be given for a dominant performance that ended due to a slight misjudgement. He may not have won, but he definitely showed his dirt track talent.

Bobby Pierce briefly took the lead from Kyle Larson during last night’s NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race

It’s like Jonah Ray’s saying from the Nerdist podcast: Enjoy Your Burrito!

Fun fact, a great guy named Ron would use his Mini as the pace vehicle for one of the driving experiences that would rent out our track, it’s a neat sight seeing a Mini with a lightbar on top leading a pack of stock cars.

I hear Bret Kepner in that radio spot, cool stuff.

Oh man, Broadway Bob is legendary!

Also Jan Gabriel.

The Sunday! Sunday! Sunday! catchphrase came from drag racing, not circle track racing, as seen in the vintage Jan Gabriel advertisement for US 30 Drag Strip seen below. Side note, had the opportunity to meet him once, great guy who had an equally great wife, he’s very much missed around these parts.

Dwayne was a great guy, still sucks that he passed away last year.

Someone really needs to take care of these low ass-bridges.

Years ago I had a conversation with a dirt track owner on why he regraded into a progressive banking at his track. His reason was it gives racers a trade-off with their line, the inside line is shorter but the high line has slightly higher corner speed, giving options that should prevent one-line racing.
