I just found a video of the commentators during Danny’s run, thought you may enjoy this.

Ah crap, I didn’t even realize this version cut that off.

Glad I made you proud.

Videos like that make me wonder how people can call Baseball players athletes.

Absolutely. Though the first time I watched it I was in class so the sound was muted, the run left me in disbelief. It was a treat to hear the announcers call the run, I’d want these guys announcing anything and everything.

Here’s 180 seconds of impossibly good bike riding. Danny Hart, 2011 World Championships, pouring rain.

It looks like he’s out on a trail, judging from the right rear tire under the axle, and had to replace something in the rear end, so to keep stuff from falling out of the diff into the dirt, he used duct tape to hold it together.

America should be the Jeep.

Meh, that’s nothing compared to the average day at the Nurburgring.

You said heavyweight, right?

Oh no no no, not once did I feel you were, my appologies for any confusion on that. I was agreeing with you, any attempts to compare them are invalid because basically everything about both are completely different. My appologies for any confusion, my wording may not have been the best.

I figured that was the source, but I never found anything to support it so didn’t want to make the claim.

Indeed. Comparing a NASCAR-spec stock car at Daytona to the Audi LMP1 at Monza is like comparing an apple to an avocado. Both have four wheels, that’s about it.

There is far, far, far more downforce generated on the Audi.

The beauty of the system I researched is that there are “good” things that can be learned, such as high lean angles are okay if there’s a high g-load like in cornering, and there are “bad” things that can be learned, such as a false “high lean angle” that is actually sliding across the ground, and the system is able

From what I remember the Dianese system can be used twice in a single race, though I never did find out what exactly is the source of inflation for their system. If it’s a replaceable canister then I imagine it could be used over and over, dictated by the amount of wear from crashing of course.

I did research on this topic a number of years ago, IIRC the system used in MotoGP is self-contained in the leathers. Great to see it is transferring to the public sector.

Ha Ha Clinton-Dix kills me every time. Classic Key & Peele clip.

I googled Corvair and picked the first image that looked good. It’s a representation, nothing more.
